Patzer To Present Concert Recital With Fiocca In East Cleveland

Patzer a junior in the college of liberal arts will give a recital tomorrow at 8 30 p m in the training school auditorium with pianist Joan Fiocca. The tenor and Shaw high school East Cleveland graduate won the Cleveland Singers club scholarship in 1948. The program features Handel Purcell Mendelssohn Schubert Rachmaninoff Cilea and Barber works plus a violin obligato by William Taylor.

Fike Decorated For War Action

William J. Fike a June Kent State graduate and current WAKR Akron news editor was decorated for Pacific action at Akron naval air base. He received the air medal with four stars and the distinguished flying cross for duty aboard the U S Franklin in a dive bomber squadron and credited with shooting down a Japanese fighter over Manila.

Soprano Annamary Dickey, known from stage and TV, will give a concert in the university auditorium on Tuesday August 2 at 8 30 p m The program is free to the public Dickey just starred in The Chocolate Soldier at the St Louis Municipal Opera and toured Alle Gro in the Theater Guild season She will perform at several summer concerts and also work on television projects.

George Hoy, president, criticized low turnout at a senior meeting with 12 of 331 seniors attending. He urged cooperation and committee work for class gift, dance, and banquet. Announcements and dues pickup at Booster booth Thursday afternoon or Friday. Next senior class meeting set for Wednesday August 3 at 3:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

Veterans to Receive Insurance Dividends This August

Veterans will get a share of GI insurance dividends with application blanks available August 29 at post offices and VA offices. Carl R. Gray, administrator of veterans affairs, announced the plan while noting premiums exceeded death costs. Payouts favor younger veterans and those with peacetime policy conversions.
