Judd Denounces Korea Cease Fire as Communist Trick

In a morning address titled What Is Ahead In Asia U S Representative Walter H Judd blamed the Korea cease fire on Communist manipulation He argued U S diplomats misread Russia and warned against withdrawing from Korea noting the large Korean displacement and ongoing Asian policy concerns Judd favored support for Chiang Kai Shek and warned against weakening England in Iran's dispute history of Alger Hiss noted

August Grads Must Register At Once

August graduates of all university colleges are urged to register with the bureau of appointments immediately. Unregistered students cannot be recommended for new positions or promotions. Beginning the week of July 23, graduates from the College of Business Administration and chemistry majors from the College of Liberal Arts will be interviewed. Appointments for interviews may be arranged with Dr Munzenmeyer. All students must register and secure their confidential files. There remains a strong need for elementary teachers. those without a position for the coming school year should contact the bureau of appointments at once.

Irish Theatre Group to Present Three One-Act Plays

The Young Ireland players visit Kent State University auditorium on Monday July 23 at 8 30 p m to stage Riders to the Sea The Workhouse Ward and Purgatory praising Irish peasant spirit and theater craft Dublin critics call the troupe among Ireland's best The International Theatre Exchange sponsors the trip with free admission scheduled for public attendance.

Born Yesterday at University Theatre Tonight

The University Theatre presents Born Yesterday directed by G. Harry Wright with Dick Johnson as the war profiteer and Marcia Hill as Billie Dawn. The cast includes J Edward Harris, John Biggs, Charles Potter, Norvall Hedges, Juliet Grimsbey, Mary Lou Ludvigsen, and others. The play follows a rich war profiteer and his entourage in Washington as Billie learns more than intended.

Choir Sings King David under Carapetyan at University

The University summer choir, directed by Caro M. Carapetyan, performs the symphonic psalm King David in the University auditorium on Tuesday July 24 at 8 30 p m. Soloists Joan Morris Emma Lee Knippenberg and Richard Davis lead with Rebecca Perkins and Emily Habine as pianists. The event is free and open to the public.

Payment of Fees for Second Summer Session

Payment of fees for the second summer session is due July 23 and July 24 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the registrar’s office.

Trustees Announce Six New Appointments At Bowedon University

President George A Bowman disclosed six new appointments after a trustees meeting. Highlights include rehiring Harry Adams as head basketball coach and two assistant professors in education Robert G Hamilton and Anita M Crist. Several staff changes and leaves of absence were approved building staff and ROTC details along with Terrace Drive resurfacing on campus. Next meeting set for September 21.
