New Kent State buildings approved in $1,338,065 bill
Gov Lausche signed the general appropriation bill funding Kent State University with 1,338,065 for four new buildings. Plans include a 50 bed Student Health hospital and a 500,000 dollar Mens Dormitory with repayment to the state over 14 to 15 years. Construction hinges on material restrictions and labor shortage easing.

Dr. David Olson head of geography and geology resigns after 32 years to join the Research Institute in the University of North Carolina for social science work starting November 1. Miss Bertha Nixson, home economics head since 1915, also resigns after helping build the department from its start at Kent.

Last Lecture Set On Oriental Art At Kent State
The final in a series of exhibitions and lectures by the Kent State School of Art for the Comparative English course features Miss Ann Horton of the Cleveland Museum of Art lecturing on oriental art in room 202K at 2 30 p m Thursday July 26. The exhibit includes Chinese costumes prints and photographs with 20 authentic Chinese costumes loaned by United China Relief and Mme Sun Yat sen through the art department. The Worcester Museum of Art sent the prints and the show runs daily July 23 1 3 p m and through July 26 at 4 p m. ART 477 478 weaving classes will display term work July 26 in rooms 201 and 203 Kent Hall from 9 to 4 p m. All students invited.
