UT Summer Play Enters Final Week at University Theatre
The University Theatre moves Dear Ruth into final prep week with two dress rehearsals. Director Robert I. Pearce leaves today for a minor operation and will depart KSU this fall for Hiram College. Fred Bush will supervise remaining rehearsals and the Friday 8:15 p.m. show. Tickets sell for 60 cents. sales run daily 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Inquire at the atrium Friday evening.

Registration Opens for Summer Session Second Term
Pre-registration for the second summer quarter starts this afternoon for a limited number of seniors. Remaining seniors and juniors register Wednesday, sophomores Thursday, freshmen Friday, and new students Monday July 28. Fees paid in pre-registration waive return until July 29. Deadline is Monday July 28. First quarter ends Friday July 25. Expected enrollment about 1800.

Four Ex Students Probated In Theft Case By Judge
Four ex students from Youngstown Bedford Maple Heights and Euclid were placed on two year probation the longest in Portage county history for stealing a 600 pound safe containing 200 from the Mills store in Ravenna and an attempted break in at Orange two. They were ordered to weekly probation reporting for six months then monthly and to pay 125 damages each. They toured Mansfield reformatory and were expelled from university. The judge urged church attendance college enrollment and employment and to avoid liquor, stressing the punishment was outside prison walls.

University Orchestra and Choir to Present Winter Concerts
The university orchestra and summer session choir schedule two concerts in the campus auditorium next week. The choir under Prof Caro Carapetyan features Harold Haugh and Phillip MacGregor with Jo Ann Harvey, piano, in four Bach cantatas on Monday at 8 15 p m. The orchestra, conducted by Prof Kenneth Eyler, performs Lully Rameau and Beethoven next Wednesday at 8 15 p m. Details will be in Friday’s Stater.

Veterans File Leave Pay Requests At VA Training Office
University veterans must personally submit accrued leave pay requests this week at the VA training office 213K. Friday July 18 is the last signup day. Leave accrues at 2.5 days per month of training minus unauthorized absences. those enrolled since fall quarter will have enough leave through September to continue subsistence payments. If no leave request is made, training is interrupted August 29. Subsistence income during leave is limited to $110.
