ROTC Instruction Starts at KSU with Army Staff Arrival
Two army sergeants arrive at Kansas State College to form the advance ROTC staff for a fall program. Col. Sidney H. Negrotto named professor of military science and tactics, arriving around July 21. Enrollment will include 100 elementary and 50 advanced course students with veterans eligible regardless of prior service.

The University theatre summer production Dear Ruth goes on sale Monday in Merrill hall corridor. Tickets are 60 cents for the public and students may buy with a summer session fee card. The play, directed by Professor Robert I Pearce, will be July 18 in the auditorium.

University Library to Close Sundays in Summer Session
Prof. John B. Nicholson Jr. announced the university library will close on Sundays for the summer session due to low usage. About 175 students are needed to keep Sunday hours, a level not met this term.

Corps Seeks Marine Vets For Volunteer Reserve Enrollment
Marine Sgt. Eugene Franklin will be at the heating plant from 10 30 a m to 2 p m today to register ex Marines and ex marines women for the volunteer Marine Corps Reserve. The reserve is composed of former regulars who stay in contact on inactive status and are eligible for active duty training. Franklin will meet groups of ex Marines to explain forming volunteer training units of 10 or more officers and enlisted personnel. Attendance is voluntary and credits the individual's record. Women retain rank but do not participate in active duty training.

Vets May Take Leave Pay During Summer Session
The notice outlines leave pay for veterans during summer training. Eligible veterans with continuous fall quarter enrollment may receive subsistence through September and into fall. Those starting winter quarter January 1947 lack sufficient leave but may request earned leave. Requests must be filed at 218K July 14 to 18.

About 200 people heard Norman Cousins urge a strong United Nations and formed a temporary committee to draft a plan for a local citizen petitions group.
