University Theatre Presents Years Ago at University Auditorium

University Theater will stage Years Ago by Ruth Gordon in the university auditorium July 21 and 22 at 8 30 pm. Rick Morris Elizabeth Hallowell and Nancy Keefer lead with Prof Earle E Curtis directing and Prof Wes Egan as technical director. Cast includes Jane Claypoole Jim Iacavazzo Mable Prior Pete Goodman Wilda Hanselman and Pete Myers. High school visitors called cherubs will take part in three one act plays under graduate directors Don Shanower Claude Colvin and Phyllis Phillips.

Senior Committee To Pick Nominees

About 65 graduating seniors attended the first meeting in the university auditorium under temporary guidance of Dean Fren Musselman. A nominating committee was chosen to present a slate of class officer nominees at the next meeting Monday at 3 30 p.m. in the auditorium.

International drum major champions to lead Band Orchestra clinic

Two world champions Karl and Mary Evelyn Thurman will guest instruct at Kent State Band Orchestra clinic starting Monday through July 22. Over 100 musicians from Ohio and neighboring states expected. John Morrissey Arho Seppelin and Kent State staff will conduct and teach private lessons. Rehearsals schedule shown.

Dr John Furbay To Speak On Air Age Problems

Dr John Furbay explorer educator author and lecturer will speak at the university auditorium Monday July 11 at 2 p.m. He directs Air World Education for TWA and addresses the question of how races religions and cultures can be brought into contact without frictions or war. The Conference on Aviation Education runs July 12 13 with teachers of all levels welcome.

Veterans Subsisistence Checks For GI Bill Enrollees

Veterans enrolled under the GI Bill should review their subsistence authorization. If they are in the first session only from June 20 to Aug 18 1949 or in both summer sessions from June 20 to Sept 17 1949 a 15 day leave is authorized reducing remaining eligibility. No action needed if the authorization fits.
