Teachers across subjects invited to a two day air education conference July 12 13 sponsored by the Ohio Aviation board NAUAAE and the industrial arts department. Noted aviation educator Philip S Hopkins will speak. A 50 cent registration fees apply.

Band Clinic to Feature Noted Guest Conductors at Kent State

Kent State University hosts a Band Orchestra Clinic from July 11 to 22 with guest conductors including John Morrissey of Tulane University and Urho Seppelin. Over 100 students from Ohio to Indiana will attend. rehearsals run 1 to 2 30 p.m. for orchestra and 3 to 5 p.m. for band.

Ohio records 28 accidental deaths after holiday weekend

Ohio counted 28 accidental deaths during a long Independence Day weekend. Drownings reached 14, while traffic fatalities stood at 12. Financial and local crime items followed with bank statement request, elephant rampage in Kilifi Kenya, pitcher Peterson in hospital, and a 1000 pound postal safe looted in Lorain.

Senator Homer Ferguson of Wayne County Michigan will address the university auditorium at 8 15 pm on A Senator Looks at Our Foreign Policy He helped clean up Detroit and Wayne County leading to prison terms for mayor and police chief He served on the Fears Harbor inquiry board and is viewed as a top Washington investigator Ferguson favors an openly frank foreign policy He previously worked as a coal miner and farmer before law and politics and was Wayne County circuit judge who indicted over 300 politicians gamblers and underworld figures

Coed Housing Shortage Hits Kent Campus

Mrs. Rhema A Fair says housing for female students is critically tight at Kent. With 650 beds in three dorms full since February and 275 on a waiting list, about 500 coeds may be turned away next fall unless more rooms are found. A housing call goes to Kent citizens as householders hesitate to take in coeds.

Akers Receives Overseas Post for France Teaching

William G. Akers, graduate student in the foreign language department, won one of 40 U.S. appointments for teaching and study in France in the 1949 50 year. He will teach English at the lycee in Annecy near the Swiss and Italian borders under the Institute of International Education program. Akers earned an AB from KSU and a 1948 bachelor of education. his master's in French will be postponed until return.

Graduate Record Exam Scheduled at KSU in August

A graduate record examination will be given here August 1 and 2. Several departments at KSU require this exam for entering graduate students. The test covers mathematics physics chemistry biological science social studies literature fine arts and verbal ability. Registration is due by Friday July 14 in 208K. The tests are conducted under the direction of D. L. Arnold director of guidance testing.

Stadium Drive Nears Goal After One Month

The stadium campaign chaired by Martin L. Davey Jr. has raised $59,955.37 toward a $75,000 goal. The drive, ongoing for the last month, continues to seek contributions and support.
