The Kent State Radio workshop presents The Man They Wouldnt Believe on WADU Akron at 4 30 p m. today. Jim Bullock Jim Crawford Mary Haines and Bob Telford star with Stella Greenbaum announcing.
President K. C. Leebrick and Dean Frew Musselman conferred in Columbus with Raymond Gill state fire marshal and Capt. Cutter War department officer on firemen training programs in seven Ohio explosive plants. They will attend another Volunteer Fire Fighters training committee meeting before returning to Kent tonight.
About 200 persons attended the all University New Year's ball Friday night in Wills gymnasium. Peggy Fike, chairman, said the event was sponsored by the Women's League.
The Art Club will meet tomorrow at 4 p m in room 206 Merrill hall to plan decorations for the Moulton hall format. Florence Riehl, secretary, provided the details.
The University aims to accelerate the Manchester cup chase as many Men’s Union events as possible are scheduled this quarter to ensure participation. Photography contests start today with entries due January 20, judged by John Eckles. Basketball shooting, handball, and table tennis also slated. Work on the new University flying field, formerly Stow airport, is paused by bad weather. Heavy machinery cannot operate on soft, snowy or frozen ground. Projected to finish by May 1, with student pilots moving from Hudson Mid-City soon after.
Mary Juanita Kuhen an 18 year old Warren freshman died at her home after four weeks illness. Funeral services were held at St Marys church in Warren with burial in St Marys cemetery. A June 1942 graduate of Warren Harding high school she sang in the university a cappella choir.
Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority earned $22.82 last week to finish fourth in the Penny League of nine teams. Alpha Omega sorority takes charge this week. Cookie Kuchenbacker, vice president, said the group will work hard for the fellows in the services.
Raymond Gallagher announces the student allocations committee holds its first quarterly meeting today at 4 in Merrill Hall room 204. The gathering aims to discuss allocation decisions and committee procedures.
The Fate of the Duchess campus humor magazine will have a decision at 4 p m tomorrow when the publications committee meets in room 114A Merrill Hall. Editors and business managers must submit applications by 5 p m today.
Miss Elfreda Littlejohn announced the Victory Sings series will begin tomorrow at the Training school auditorium. The sing will be held from 7 to 8 p m with the event directed by the assistant professor of music.

The former Kent State transfer from the University of Miami says he has served eighteen months toward a commission, steers ships, stands watches, and wears a Mae West life preserver. He notes convoy departures and returns and calls the merchant marine a man sized, dangerous job.
