Tire rationing spreads across the nation affecting Kent with limited tires for commuting students. Dr. C C Kochenderfer says 176 women and about 600 men travel from Portage County will need car sharing or rotation. Only 39 passenger and 99 truck tires plus 65 tubes are allotted locally with conditions for recapping or replacing tires.

KSU Mobilizes To Stamp Axis Defense Plan
Kent State moves to sponsor a Bomber Club under Ray Moran to buy defense stamps after Axis ships or planes are sunk or shot down. A defense stamp could cost from 10 cents to 1 dollar and would be added to student and faculty fund collections.

University Plans Program To Drill Radio Technicians
Ohio universities discuss an extensive 16 week program to train radio technicians for military and defense work. President Roosevelt yesterday ordered the registration of men aged 20 to 44 for selective military service on February 16. Those whose 20th birthday occurs after December 31, 1941 are exempt from registration under the proclamation.

The new undergraduate constitution will be voted on with the annual Miss Kent State election set for Thursday January 22. Petitions for Miss Kent State candidacy must be filed by noon Saturday January 17 at the dean of women's office. War Stops Short Course This Year
The annual short course in news photography is suspended due to ongoing war conditions.
