KSU scored 379 points to Case Institute of Technology's 485 in the fifth annual split-team debate tourney at Case. The question: federal government wage and price controls. Kent's Sonia Andel and Marcia Hill affirmed. Marge Petty and Art Ballen negated.
Students who have not taken the Guidance test may arrange to take them by calling 303 Kent. The tests include reading and college aptitude. College of Education freshmen also take a second college aptitude test, the O. U. Psychological Examination. Most students take them the first week of enrollment. Some do not, and are advised to come to 303 Kent to arrange these tests.
Brady Lake Judge Steve Van derSteen found Julius Campetto Louis Sabetta and Lewis Trivisonno guilty of assault and battery and jailed them for 60 days. A fourth student Andrew Valore received a suspended sentence while another was fined. Campetto Trivisono and Sabetta were dismissed from the University and Valore is indefinitely suspended. Beavers, 34, of Kent was attacked on Summit Street extension.
Newly elected student council members will take tests on parliamentary procedure and council constitution today at 4 p.m. in room 205 Union.
Moulton hall and Alpha Phi sorority won first in Park Barrel's independent and sorority divisions Friday night. Engleman hall and Chi Omega took second. Jo Eggler directed Moulton's Circusland, while Jean Wetzel led Alpha Phi Service with a Smile. Door contributions totaled 134 dollars for the Penny Fund aiding KSU servicemen. requests for Kent addresses were directed to the Dean of Men's office.
The ROTC Military Ball at Myers Lake ballroom Canton invites all university students this Thursday. Honorary Cadet Colonel Meredyth Sweda will share the spotlight with Blue Barron and his orchestra, who will perform. Attendees include Wilda Peterson and Marilyn Kieffer as honorary lieutenants. Tickets are five dollars per couple and on sale at the Booster booth. The event is formal.
A Kent State Student Council committee, including Bud Davis and Marilyn Beiffus, reviews allegations that staff violated SOP for SP and damaged the council’s reputation. The group seeks corrections in the Kent Stater, disciplinary actions if needed, and to restore trust. a sub committee will study and report back.
