Delta Upsilon initiates Help Week replacing Hell Week as actives and pledges work on the Happy Days school on Mogadore road. They scrub, sand, oil, and repair interiors, check fire extinguishers, and plan a canopy. donations from the Kent City Women's Club and others fund materials.
Mary Ann Weigel reports the first issue of The Kent Writer, a 20 page mimeographed literary magazine from the Kent Writer's club. Submissions are open university wide with a 4000 word limit and editorial screening led by Dr. Arthur E. Dubois. copies cost 35 cents.
The Varsity K dance at Wills Gym runs 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Intermission will crown the queen with candidates Jane Miller, Mary Elaine Long, and Pauline Buchholz. Chairs include Jim Cuppy, Dick Oberdorfer, Neal Hesche, Frank Kovacic, Bill Bosway, Pat Kilbane, and Neil Skinner. University women receive 1:30 permits. tickets from Varsity K members.
George Daverio Akron tax accountant will headline the Akron chapter of the National Association of Cost Accountants annual tax discussion dinner on Tuesday Feb 19. KSU students and faculty are invited and John Duke of Twin Coach Co is the contact for more information.
The Men’s union and Women’s league host the 1952 Pork Barrel at 7 in the auditorium. Eleven organizations and seven sororities perform skits directed by Jo Eggler Norma Remmy Ruth Ann Perram and others with awards to be given by Pat Long and Lowell Smith. Donations at the door benefit the Kent Stater Penny fund for Kent State students in service.
