University plans its first band concert of the year for February 25 at 8 15 p m Denker head of the school of music will be soloist in the Grieg piano concerto in a minor the program includes three marches by Beethoven Grofe and Sousa and Holst May Overture El Abanico and Die Fledermaus Strauss overture Denker recently returned to Kent from the University of Rochester where he earned his doctorate He began teaching at Kemper Military school in 1924 and joined Kent in 1933 later becoming music department chairman Metcalf associate professor of music directs the 60 member band with a long record in intercollegiate band leadership

Library Trial Will Continue At Rockwell Library
Rockwell library will stay open three more Sunday afternoons despite a sharp decline in usage. Librarian John B. Nicholson Jr. reported 98 readers on February 9, the lowest in the four week trial, which was to end if 300 was not reached. He said no serious investigation into the drop has been made, but noted students kept the library busy for the first two Sundays.

Mrs. Frederick Sterbentz former Cleveland Press feature writer will address journalism students Wednesday February 19 Bob Blumer speaker committee chairman announced.
