University women create an honorary home economics fraternity Psi Lambda Omicron as a temporary group aimed at eventual national recognition. Dorothy Snyder, president, awaits word from national officials about membership approval.
Alexander Brailowski, famed pianist dubbed the Poet of the Piano, will present a recital in Kent University Auditorium on Tuesday January 9 at 815 p m. The concert is sponsored by the music department and admission will be by student activity ticket. Brailowski is praised as a premier Chopin interpreter with a repertoire spanning classic to modern pianistic literature.
Brothers Bob and Bill Harrington, Strongsville freshmen at Kent State, head home for New Year’s Day 1941. Both celebrate January 1 birthdays, born 1920 and 1922, while other Kent students also begin 1941 with January 1 birthdays including Phyllis Lamb Elaine Lattin George Vanek Jack Grooms Robert Thompson John B Hollett Russell Armitage Carolyne Kubina James Ryan Velma Andrews.
General Electric produced science show the House of Magic has drawn over 10 million attendees nationwide. Kent State University will host the program January 30, 1941, with exact timing to be set after GE officials respond during Christmas holidays.
Kent State varsity wrestlers pinned four foes and won five decisions in a 9 bout win at Wills Gym before 800 fans. Freshman Joe Incorvaia fought hard in a 13 11 loss to co captain Fred Swasey in a feature bout amid strong frosh effort led by Dick Bader.

Dr G H Chapman, chemistry, scores 2500 points to win most popular Kent instructor, with Dr Grace B Sherrer English close behind after 24 first place votes. Student salesmen will be in downtown Kent today to assist Christmas shoppers as Kent launches its first K Day. The second radio script "Tried Last April" by Russell Lengs will air at 8 30 tonight on station WAKR Akron. Student director Leonard Silverstein from Ohio State leads the cast including Eugene Moulton Robie Evans Joseph Michaels Blair Sheers Robert Telford and Joseph Howard.
