Kent grapplers went 11 straight meets with notable wins over Ohio State and Nebraska before a rare loss to Michigan State. The natators suffered a poor season at 5-? eight weeks and the golf squad, led by the Thornton brothers, went 7-3, marking a strong year for the links. Track and field dominated four wins plus a conference runner up finish, while basketball and football showed high-scoring bursts yet uneven results, ending with a 5-1-2 gridiron slate.
