Students pick a name for the university orchestra in a January 31 all campus event. Voting runs 8 to 12 and 1 to 5 in the atrium under registrar supervision. The board of trustees approved the 1941 42 calendar for Kent State highlighting Thanksgiving on November 27, Christmas break December 20 to January 5, and Easter April 1 to 7. President Leebrick will tour North Dakota February 17 28 for Rotary and attend a California educators meeting January 7. Flight Tests Ready For Student Pilots
Poor flying conditions last week improved enough at Mid-City airport to allow CPTP students to prepare for their flight tests tomorrow. After the tests and a written exam, successful students will receive private pilot certificates. About 10 students have completed cross country hours and will enter the final training stage for the final test.

New Commuter Center Opens After Christmas
A combined lunch and smoking room and checkroom will be ready on the first floor of McGilvrey hall after the holidays. Larry E. Woodell the construction supervisor said the room will be open to both men and women and folding tables will be installed for students. The NYA student will handle the checkroom and the space will serve as maintenance room until further changes.
