Junior Class Portraits To Be Taken Individually
The Chestnut Burr reports junior portraits for 1941 will be taken individually instead of in groups. Leonard Schafitz will photograph Juniors starting next Monday through Thursday at no charge to students. Bill Schraegle announced the change yesterday.

Hotel Universe to Feature Evans Wigner Leever Trio
Robby Evans Opal Wigner and Bill Leever will headline the University theater production Hotel Universe the third show of the season. The Philip Barry play set in the terrace of a south of France home unfolds over two hours with a seven person cast led by Evans Wigner and Leever and includes Pat Farley Norman Rose Robert Zimmerman Marjorie Thompson Alice Kendall Shirley Sacks Lily Malone and Fritzie Koole. Rehearsals begin after Christmas recess with additional casting to be announced.

Elizabeth Ellis to Lead 65 Sopranos in Messiah
University instructor Elizabeth Ellis will head a section of 65 sopranos for the fifth annual Messiah. Prof. Fred H. Denker, chair of the school of music, will conduct the Sunday afternoon performance in the auditorium at 3. The event teams university voices with renowned regional singers.

Students to pick name band for first all university formal
Fifteen top dance bands compete in a university wide vote to choose the band for the inaugural all university formal dance set for January 31. Voting runs 8 to 12 and 1 to 5 in the atrium, with results to be published in the Wednesday Stater. The poll features Vincent Lopez Bobby Byrne Al Donahue Will Osborne Henry Busse and others with soloists led by Elizabeth Ellis Alfred Hopkins Russel Skitch and a 65 voice soprano choir from the school.

Student's Father Killed in Salem Slate Mine Cave-In
