Five Student Budgets Deferred to Seek Extra Funds
The assembly delayed approval of five student activity budgets that exceeded their allocations to form a committee led by Roger Howard and Al Larsen to request more money from the sinking fund. The fund may be short for the quarter. Several groups including band Chestnut Burr choir and orchestra intramural athletics and University theater surpassed their shares.

Tau Kappa pledges its 50 members to the Blue and Gold standard as ten fraternities and sororities join in support. The ISA slate opposes the Greek factions, while Blue and Gold presents a full slate and already holds the majority of Student Council and Men's Union offices.

Penny Carnival to Feature 25 Acts at KSU
Twenty five attractions will be operated by 150 students at KSU's eighth annual Penny Carnival in Wills gym tomorrow evening. Proceeds go to the stadium drive and the World Student Service Fund. Full details appear in tomorrow's Stater.

Slated To Install Phi Kappa Delta May 20th
Phi Kappa Delta becomes the Beta Mu chapter of Phi Kappa Tau at KSU with installation on May 20. Active members will be initiated May 15 at 620 Vine Street. The charter will be presented at the installation banquet with speakers President George A Bowman and Roland Maxwell. Don H Ebright will be toastmaster. A faculty reception follows May 22 in Moulton Hall Music Room. Phi Kappa Delta was recognized as a club March 1 1948 and as a local fraternity March 16 1949.

Two Speakers Named For Conference
Dr Preston W Slosson of the University of Michigan and Dr Luther H Evans librarian of the United States Congress will headline the UNESCO conference on Saturday May 7. Evans will address UNESCO International and National. Evans has taught at New York University Dartmouth and Princeton and led the Historical Records survey for the WPA in 1935 before becoming Library of Congress librarian in 1945.

About 750 junior and senior high school journalists will attend the eighth annual NOSP clinic in Youngstown on Saturday April 23. Chief Justice Carl V Weygandt of the Ohio Supreme Court will speak at the lunch banquet on Your Government and Mine. A dramatized news skit by local police officials and university students will open competitive practice assignments.

UT to Present Aladdin and His Lamp at Campus Auditorium
A children's play Aladdin and His Lamp will be presented by UT on Saturday April 23 at 2 p.m. in the auditorium. Sponsored by the American Association of University Women the show opened last Tuesday at Cuyahoga Falls high school. The 26 member cast is directed by Prof. Earl E. Curtis with Wes Eagen as technical director. Gene Mekler stars as Aladdin with Jane Claypoole as Dora and Hank Shapiro as the Genie.
