Secret Topic Adds Mystery To Assembly

A campus open forum unfolds tomorrow at 1 p m in the university auditorium as the third of four discussions on a controversial topic. Dr Henry M Cater and Prof Mona Fletcher preside for the faculty with student participants. Panelists include Howard Besseger Bruce Kreighbaum Bob Butler Don Miller Jane Rothermund Betty Crampton Caroline Clawson Frances Smith and Elizabeth Tucker. Students may participate from the audience. The final forum will be held Friday May 17.

Survey Shows Knowledge Of Federal Politics Slim

Kent students show profound ignorance of national politics in a survey by Ruth LaPolla and Mary Suderow. 553 students responded with results noting Roosevelt led in votes, Dewey over Taft, and many undecided or without party preference. The home influenced opinions most, followed by newspapers and schools.

Swedish Smorgasbord Supper Heads Home Management Event

One hundred fifty faculty members will attend a Swedish smorgasbord supper hosted by the women of the Home Economics Management house on Saturday from 4 30 to 7 30 p m. Guests may buffet and come and go during the hour.

Combined Clubs Give Dinner at Robin Hood

Akron and Kent State home economics clubs hold a joint annual dinner at the Robin Hood tonight at 6 30. About 75 members are expected with Kent State president Jeanne Claypoole acting as toast mistress. Delegates report on Columbus convention. Jean Evans and Edith Gerlach in charge.

Kent Stater editorial staff will gather next Monday at 4 PM in the Stater office to outline convention plans. All staff members and aspiring writers, columnists, feature writers, photographers, or anyone interested in writing for the Stater are urged to attend.

Hromeco Elected President of Newman Club

Hromeco Ray Hromeo an Aktor junior and Delta Phi Sigma member wins the Newman club presidency in a late yesterday election. He succeeds John Maurer with Bob Beuch Cay McGowan elected first and second vice presidents. Helen Elliott and Betty Bowles named secretary positions and Vincent McDevitt becomes treasurer. Delegates to the Ohio Province Newman clubs meeting at the University of Michigan April 19 20 and 21 were discussed.
