Mary Sheriff of Sharpsburg Pennsylvania becomes the first Ohio college coed to earn a Civilian Aeronautics Pilot's Training private license. She soloed after 44 hours with Kent State University in the CAA course at Akron airport. Sheriff is among Kent’s four women in a class of 40 to complete the program.
Kent State University debaters met speakers from Youngstown College at Palmyra High School for an exhibition debate. The event is part of a series arranged by the department of speech to present the year’s debate question to off campus audiences.
