Kent State to Send 15 Players to Ohio Inter-Collegiate Band

Kent State University will be represented at the Ohio Inter-Collegiate Band festival at Wittenberg College Springfield on Apr 26 and 27 by 15 band members and director Roy D Met calf. The ensemble leaves Friday Apr 25 by private car and returns Saturday with students from other schools. Sunday a concert will be conducted by Frank Simon of Cincinnati.

Prots Attend Home to Meet at Ohio Association Meet

The Ohio Home Economics Association meeting in Columbus will be attended by University Dietitian Ernestine Williams and Associates Home Economics Professor Alice E. Ryder along with Instructor Mabel M. Stoner. Professor Alice Haley, head of home economics, plans to arrive Friday to join the Deshler Wallick gathering that evening.

Barich To Address Annual Industrial Arts Convention

Dewey F. Barich head of the Industrial Arts department will address the annual meeting of the American and Ohio Industrial Arts association in Columbus over Thursday to Saturday. He chairs the national advisory committee and will speak on Organizing a County Industrial Arts Program. The program covers eight sessions on postwar reconstruction and state supervision, closing with a Fellowship banquet by Epsilon Pi Tau.

The Industrial Arts club will meet in room 204 Heating Plant to discuss an open house and the Industrial Arts banquet aimed for mid May. Robert Heighberger president asks all faculty to attend as joining Delta Pi Epsilon, the national industrial arts honorary, may be discussed with support from Dr William E Warner of Ohio State.

Social Dance Set Returns at Wills Gym

K Vet President Bob Duncan announced social dancing at Wills gym tomorrow night from 8 to 10 with recorded music this week and a band planned for next Thursday. Admission is by activity card plus 15 cents. HPE department members will offer dancing instruction from 7 to 8 p.m.

Establish Creative Course For Elementary Students

Elementary students explore clay plastic metal leather and wood to express creativity through individual projects followed by cooperative work. Recent examples include a model airport and a table model of the first Thanksgiving to apply prior learning.

Kent Model Air Show Set For First Week Of May

The Kent Model Aircraft club and the Kent Courier Tribune sponsor an all Kent air model show during the first week of May. Kent State University students are urged to compete with models from solid scale to gas powered in the open class. Delmar Olson, club advisor, announced prizes for all contestants by the Courier-Tribune.

450 Voters Registered for Student Council Elections

About 450 registered voters include a mix of freshmen and sophomores. Voting runs tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the main entrance to the gym.

Henry V film showings scheduled at university

The university entertainment committee presents two special showings of Laurence Olivier's Henry V in technicolor with the London Symphony Orchestra. The 2 and 7 pm screenings are for students only with admission by activity card and not open to the public. Olivier stars, produced and directed the wartime film in England.

Fresh Sophomore Pop Ball Dues Due Friday

Three days remain for freshman and sophomore class members to pay dues to attend the Popularity Ball Saturday night in Wills gym. Bob Farnsworth runs sophomore collections, Bud King leads freshman dues, Frankie Reynolds and his southland orchestra will play from 9 to midnight. Final plans were set by the student council committee yesterday afternoon.
