Kent State Arbor Day ceremony honors WWII dead
Kent State University observes Arbor Day with a 3:15 pm ceremony on the east campus steps. Dean Manchester recalls 17 listed war dead as the bronze plaque will be unveiled under the tree. The Army Air Corps Band and speakers including H. S. Wagner and Dr. Leebrick participated.

Naval and Marine Reserve Students Face Qualification Test
Naval Reserve V-1 men in their late sophomore year and Marine corps reserve freshmen and sophomores must take a qualifying test on Tuesday April 20 in 317 McGilvrey Hall from 8 to 10 a.m. and 12 to 2 p.m. Natives will be tested on math, physics and English as advised by Adrian Van Wyen. Navy enlistees failing may retake for Navy V-5 or enter boat training. the exam runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with two hours off 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. under Dr. Raymond Clark who oversees administration.
