Voters note on Student Council election registration

Registration for the Student Council election on April 23 takes place today and tomorrow from 9 to 5 at the entrance to Wills gym. Those missing registration will be turned away at the polls. Student activity cards are required for ID at the booth.

Kent State Debaters Win Honors at Michigan State

Two Kent State University students earned top honors at the Provincial forensics contest held at Michigan State College. Joan Fiocca won first in discussion on Peace, Jeanne Cook took first in extemp on Democracy Past Present and Future. Debating team placed second overall. Wanda Lashley and Fiocca formed the affirmative, Betty Cibula and Cook the negative on Federal World Government Should be Established. Fifteen institutions from four states competed.

The Stadium Drive committee will meet tomorrow at 4 p.m. in the journalism office. The agenda includes soliciting funds and those interested in the drive are urged to attend.

Kent State displays 26 pound snapping turtle

The biology department showcased a 26 pound Chelydra Serpentina on display after it was trapped at Hill's Hatchery on Davey road Saturday. Officials note it is one of the heaviest turtles seen in the area and estimate its age between 50 and 90 years.

Language mix-up demonstration scheduled today

Akron scientist E G Reed will demonstrate a new international language at 10 am in the auditorium assembly. The language blends Latin Chinese Malay and algebraic form and is promoted by local leaders. Reed is president of Reed Laboratories and spent twelve years creating it.

The UT production of Shoemaker's Holiday will run tonight tomorrow night and Friday at 8 15 p m in the auditorium featuring the most expensive scenery yet used at the school with seventeen scene changes across eight sets. Dean Musselman underwent kidney surgery Monday at Akron City Hospital. He is reported in good condition and will rest about 10 days. He is expected back at work in two to three weeks, per Dr. A. O. De Weese.
