Rubin Urges Policy Shift From Rearmament to Aid Abroad
Rubin, on a 14 day Ohio lecture tour, urged a shift in U S foreign policy from costly rearma ment to diplomatic aid and leadership for Asia. He criticized Truman four point program spending and warned Russia wins political and social battles while the U S prepares for old fights. He cited twelve nations under Russian influence since WWII and called Asia resisting tyranny, not inherently communist, while urging Truman support and commenting on MacArthur's removal.

West Point Debaters Chosen For Forensic Tournament
Joyce Ritzman and Tom McManus were selected to represent KSU at the West Point Debate tournament at the United States Military Academy in April 1921. They will travel from Kent on Tuesday and compete in eight rounds over two days with finals Saturday at 7 30 p m. The topic is that non communist nations should form a new international organization.

Baum to Open University Arts Festival Monday
Dr. Maurice A. Baum head of the philosophy department will open the University’s Second Annual Arts Festival at 10 in the auditorium. His talk titled Creative Activity In Time of World Crisis will discuss the value of art during national distress and the purpose of the festival. The four week program includes lectures, exhibitions, and events featuring Ben Shahn Henry Gray James Fosdick and others with photography demonstrations a gem cutting exhibit and a panel on Good Design in 1951.

Graduate Qualifying Exams Announced by KSU
Graduate qualifying exams for KSU graduate school will be given tomorrow at 8 30 a.m. Dr Alfred W Stewart head of the department of secondary education says students should contact their major department to learn their exam room. Graduate record exams for other schools will be May 4 and 5 under Dr Dwight L Arnold director of guidance testing.

ROTC Mock Battle Between Kent State and Akron Units
About eighty student soldiers from Kent State and Akron universities will stage a field exercise Saturday. They will maneuver with rifles and simulated weapons in a mock battle northeast of Streetsboro using blank cartridges. Capt. James Brown and Lt. Edward Brown will judge the drill as the two contingents meet midmorning after departures at 6 a.m. from their armories.
