In a 564 vote student election Alpha Omega sorority backed Barbara Berkey won president with 247 votes over Elsie Stalzer and Ethel Day. Jim Patterson led Coalition in the student race with 262 votes beating Lou Zaremba and Al Welch. Virginia Goldie narrowly won senior vice president over Betsey Case 59 to 54. Martha Brandt won freshman vice president with 108 votes against Margaret Scullion and Betty Hoy. Four ballots invalid in total.

Boarders mourn Mrs. Mann death and her college meals
Mrs. Mann, 75, who began serving meals to students on University Drive with Miss Etta Eleazor and grew from three to fourteen boarders, died Wednesday morning. The boarders considered her a second mother and mourn the loss of a woman who provided affordable meals and comfort during university life.
