University humor magazine The ath UChess returns next fall
The Publications Policy Committee approved Hank Johnston for editor and Warren for business manager of The ath UChess, an independent monthly funded by ads and subscriptions. A. A. Crowell will advise as faculty editor and L. C. Wheton as business adviser, with policy oversight extending to Kent Stater and Chestnut Burr. Final approval granted for publishing three issues of the Stater weekly.

Kent State Plans 2 401 000 Building Program
The Board of Trustees presents a 2 401 000 building program for postwar Kent State University. Of the total, 36 000 will fund alterations to Kent hall Merrill hall Lowry hall Moulton hall and the administration building. Remaining funds will construct new buildings on campus including a student medical center on the hill behind Kent hall and a student union between Engleman hall and the heating plant with an industrial arts classroom building southwest of the campus.

Campaign posters and literature must be removed from the University by 8 a.m. Thursday and literature from students’ mailboxes by the same time. No loitering or campaign badges at the polls in the Atrium. Polls run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Most Popular Man nominees are Lou Zaremba, Al Welch, and Jim Patterson. Conard Promoted to Captain in Ninth Air Force
Wendell R. Conard from Kent has been promoted to captain by the ninth Air Force headquarters. A photo officer in a veteran P-51 recon squadron of the 19th air command, he serves as the aerial eyes for General Patton’s Third Army in the European theater. He earned the Bronze Star and has been overseas since August 1942. He graduated from college in June 1940.
