University Hosts Free Dance and Tree Presentation

A university plans a weekend event featuring an all-university free dance and a ceremonial tree presentation to the campus. Students and staff will participate in the activities highlighting university heritage and community.

University dance to feature dedication of campus tree

Maintenance crews plant a tree on the front campus as a formal dedication is planned for the dance intermission. Roy Apple will dedicate the tree, with Dean Raymond E. Manchester accepting for the university. A choral contest among fraternities sororities dormitories and independents will highlight the 9 p.m. to midnight event.

Pop Ball Scheduled for April Dance at College

Freshman and sophomore classes will start collecting dues early next week. Dues cards admit members to the popularity ball set for Saturday April 19. Juniors and seniors use winter quarter lists for admission. Seniors are guests while juniors vote against extra dues due to a prior bank balance.

Veterans Excel At KSU In Fall Academic Standings

Kent State University veterans released by the Office of Veterans' Co-ordinator Dewey Barich show 38 veterans earned an A average, 759 earned B to B plus, and 1,456 ranged from C to C plus. A total 3,049 veterans enrolled had 112 failing to achieve passing grades, with 684 in the marginal category.

Faculty Meeting Sets Dismissal and Class Delays

The university schedules a faculty meeting Monday April 14 in the auditorium at 4 35 p m. The dismissal of the day’s 4 p m classes occurs at 4 30 p m. The 5 p m classes will not convene until 5 15 p m.

Enrollment at Kansas State University stands at 4726 combining 3573 male students and 1153 female students. The gender gap remains pronounced with males outnumbering females by 2420.
