Akron hosts nationalization of Alpha Epsilon Pi at conclave

Alpha Epsilon will become the university's third national social fraternity this Saturday as the Akron Kent chapters host a regional conclave attended by delegates from Michigan State, Wayne, Ohio Northern, Western Reserve, and Cincinnati. The event includes a banquet at the Mayflower Hotel and activation services for the new Phi Deuteron chapter.

KSU Cited For Service By Army For ROTC Cadets

The Kent State ROTC unit receives a Department of the Army citation for proficiency in training the reserve officers corps. Presented to President George A Bowman and the board of trustees at 10 30 a m by Lt Col Thomas F Wall. Signed by Secretary Kenneth Royall and Chief of Staff Omar Bradley. The award covers the year ending 1948. The ROTC unit began in September 1947 and has 400 cadets.

Red Cross Offers Advanced Courses at University

Red Cross representatives will be at the university May 16 to 27 to give instructor's courses in swimming and first aid. Students who completed the standard first aid course should finish the advance course. Six hours of the instructor's course will be completed before May 16. The first meeting will be Thursday, April 7, from 7 to 9 30 p.m. in 301McG.

ISA Sponsors Treasure Hunt For Spring Quarter

The Independent Students Association hosts a scavenger hunt in Moulton Hall Music Room from 8 to 12 p.m. on Saturday April 9 as part of a week long membership drive. Admission costs 35 cents or 10 cents with an ISA membership card, with a prize for the first team. Chaperones include Mr. and Mrs. Harris and Mr. Olson. Membership tickets for the spring quarter sell in Merrill Hall for 25 cents. Additional ISA activities include biweekly bowling, a baseball game in Cleveland in late April, and a May party and picnic.

Wanhope Building to be staged by university troupe

Wes Egan announces casting for the social drama Wanhope Building at 3 pm in 315K and 7 pm in Studio A. The experimental production opens May 27 to 29 in the auditorium with music by Al Daniels and Don Erb and a modern dance sequence by the HPE department.

Faculty Members To Attend Ohio College Meeting

Four faculty members will attend the 78th annual meeting of the Ohio College Association and Allied Societies in Columbus on April 8 and 9. Dean Raymond E. Manchester will participate in a round table on student counseling. Prof. James N. Holm will serve as president of the Ohio Association of College Teachers of Speech. Dr. Mona Fletcher will serve as secretary treasurer of the Social Sciences division and Prof. G Harry Wright will give an address titled Troopers of the River.
