University undergraduates vote tomorrow to choose Kent's most popular man and woman. Nominees Frank Spechalske Connie Norris for Blue and Gold and Roy Newsome Martha Lansinger backed by ISA Blue Star. Campaigns seen as slow with a Blue Star ISA rally tonight at the Hub. Voting runs 9 am to 5 pm at Wills Gym. registration not required but activity cards needed.

A Cappella Choir Tour Called Off
President George A Bowman announced the Kent State University a cappella choir’s eastern tour plans were abandoned until adequate funds are arranged. The group will still perform in Oberlin April 18 and Cleveland April 23, with a 50 cent admission at the Akron Central High School concert April 3.

The first all university semi formal called April Showers will take place Saturday April 3 from 9 to 12 p m in Wills gym. Ross Halamay and his orchestra provide music with no admission charged. Four Named To Faculty At University
Four appointments to the faculty and staff were announced. Emerson D. Jacob becomes order librarian and library science instructor effective June 1, filling the vacancy from Thomas F. Gardner's death. Jacob is a Mount Union graduate with a Western Reserve library science degree and has worked at Canton and Mount Union libraries and currently at the University of Maryland. Also named are John Starrett part time assistant baseball coach Anita Albeu graduate assistant in speech and Anne Sawyer resident nurse. The board accepted the resignation of Alice Ann Belanger the reading clinic graduate assistant.

Population dips as 300 fewer students enroll this quarter

Penny Carnival Draws 30 Groups at KSU
Thirty organizations have submitted entries for the 1948 Penny Carnival to be held tomorrow night. Cardinal Key and Blue Key sponsor the event with dormitories sororities and fraternities staging concessions. Proceeds go to the stadium drive with dancing refreshments entertainment and prizes planned. Organizers aim to contribute 1000 to the stadium fund.

Engineering Test To Check Aptitude For Freshmen
A pre engineering aptitude test will be given here on April 24 under the sponsorship of the American Society for Engineering Education. Major Carter to referee boxing show in Wills gym
Major George Carter, assistant professor of military science, will serve as third man in the ring for tonight's Booster club boxing show. As boxing coach for the 24th Infantry division in Kobe, Japan, his fighters have won base tournament and all-Japan team titles. Forty? four of his former command are now in Hawaii pursuing the all-Pacific title. Booster club trophies will be presented at intermission by Al Weekley. The drive records 1 123 memberships, up nearly 200 from last year.
