Overland hike by Out For Fun Club girls near Jasper
A group of ten girls led by Miss Bettie Stith and Miss May King hiked to the Armstrong home northeast of Jasper, traveling about fourteen miles. They wore O F F C letters and used a canvas covered “Ambulance” wagonette. Activities included boating, fishing, marshmallows, dancing, and singing by lamplight. The outing ended with a playful ambulance-like departure down the hill. Other notes mention a Lebanon Ladies Aid quilting party, Mrs. Fannie Ray’s stroke in Miami Okla, and several local visits and gatherings through the week.
