Blanche Farris Weds Eddie Owens in Los Angeles

Miss Blanche Farris formerly of Jal and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Farris of Houston married Seaman Eddie Owens son of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Owens of Dallas in Los Angeles on December 26 at 1 pm. The couple exchanged traditional keepsakes and a reception followed at the Stanfield home. Also noted are updates on Floyd and Wilbur Ray Stuart studying in San Diego and John Curtis recovering from a heart attack in Abilene.

The Young People group held a ship themed party at the Baptist Church on Tuesday night January 14. After games were played, refreshments were served.

Extension Club Meeting Demonstrates Tender Foods

The Extension Club met at Mrs. George Addison's home last Wednesday at 1 30 p m. Mrs Brooks Brininstool showed how tender foods become when cooked in a Presto Cooker. Twelve attended eleven regular members and one new member. They voted to make friendship quilts for every member. Dr Peppers and cupcakes were served.

Jester Dave Boyd Injures Finger While Buick Repair

Dave Boyd known as the Jester sustained an injury to his left index finger while attempting to push a stalled Buick Cight water pump belt on December 29. He noted the fan belt would not turn and an inch of his nail bed was damaged in the incident.

Just-A-Mere Bridge Club Meets at Westbrook Home

The Just-A-Mere Bridge Club gathered Monday December 30 at Mrs. V S Westbrook’s home. Members present included Mesdames Bill Fink K B Walker Guy Schulag E A Miller M F Thompson R H McKay Jack Smith and W S Westbrook. Mrs McKay had the high score and Mrs Fink the second high. Mrs Westbrook served chocolate cake and coffee after the games.
