Mrs Joe Mounts and Mrs Jim Whitworth hosted a Friday afternoon shower at Mrs Bailey's home. Guests created tea towels for the bride in a prettiest towel contest won by Mrs W H Norris. Refreshments included cocoa or coffee cake jello and sandwiches.

The Epworth League met with new officers Hal Betty president Francis Butler secretary treasurer Norma Lambert Laverne Norfleet and Wilber Ray Stewart leading the social and program committee. The group invites all boys and girls ages 8 to 16 to join and a party was held at P H Norfleet's home with many members inviting guests.
Rev. C. Y. Butler reports Bishop Ivan Lee Holt of Dallas will speak at 3 p.m. Thursday at the local Methodist Church. The Missionary Society funds the church and parsonage debt and proposes Woolworth Hall naming for Clyde Woolworth. A Youth Crusade will launch in February to urge religious training for youths.
Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Yoakum and their son spent the week-end in Fort Worth. Mrs Jack Bailey of Lovington visited Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bailey and Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Bailey over the same period.
Hear Bishop Holt Thursday and attend Sunday school at 9 45 preaching at 10 50 Epworth League at 6 p m and evening preaching. Mr and Mrs C T McKeon visited Lamesa Texas on business while Mrs C Fuzzell left to be with a ill sister. Mr and Mrs Beck visit Bostick family and Mrs Paul Ryker's parents visit this week.
