Mrs Joe Mounts and Mrs Jim Whitworth hosted a Friday afternoon bridal shower for Mrs Woodrow Bailey at her home. Guests made tea towels for the bride in a competition, won by Mrs W H Norris. Refreshments included cocoa coffee cake jello and sandwiches.

The Epworth League held a Sunday gathering at the usual hour with new officers Hal Betty president and Francis Butler secretary treasurer. A party followed at P. H. Norfleet’s home with many league members and guests ages 8 to 16 invited to join and enjoy the social event.
Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Yoakum and their son spent the week end in Fort Worth. Mrs Jack Bailey of Lovington visited Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bailey and Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Bailey over the same weekend.
Bishop Ivan Lee Holt of Dallas will speak Thursday at 3 p m at the Methodist Church in Santa Fe area as New Mexico Conference presiding officer. The church Society promotes debt payoff for church and parsonage Woolworth Hall naming in honor of Clyde Woolworth. A Youth Crusade to enlist non religiously trained youth starts in February.
Hear Bishop Holt Thursday and attend Sunday school at 9 45 preaching 10 50 Epworth League 6 p m 5 preaching 7 p m. Mr and Mrs C T McKeon in Lamesa Texas on business. Mrs C Fuzzell left Sunday night to be with ill sister. Mrs Bill Bostic visiting Bostick family. Mr and Mrs Beck visiting Paul Ryker’s parents this week. Mr and Mrs R R Smalley visited in Portales over the weekend.
