County Tax Collections Near Peak as Delinquent Sale Sells
County Treasurer Carence Love reported 1938 taxes near full payment with an estimated collection rate of 96 or 97 percent. A Monday delinquent tax sale sold all delinquent taxes. The treasurer expects month end receipts and certificates to lag as he processes a backlog of letters with checks. Mrs Carleton Clinton purchased all Hobbs city delinquent lots at the sale.
