A rich looking woman inspecting linoleum rolls in a furniture shop delays a sale by hours. The clerk begs for time to fetch more stock from the factory. She agrees to return and asks for one or two pieces with very small designs suitable for a canary’s cage bottom.
In Tomlinville Arkansas the Majestic theater manager scolds Gap Johnson from Rumpus Ridge for watching four programs. Johnson replies that he waits for the promised happenings to unfold, including a city husband nearly catching a kiss, and a fat man about to topple from a tree, predicting the anecdotes will be worth the wait.
