The Butts county fair dates move from October 24 to 27. A Saturday meeting on March 25 at 10 am will feature several committee reports led by the building committee. Citizens show growing interest, stock subscriptions rise, and district vice presidents anticipate favorable notices.
Hon. C. A. Towles declares he will seek re election as the Butts county representative in the state house subject to the state primary. The Progress Argus prints his campaign card noting his first term since 1914 and his committee service. Supporters include many local voters. no opponents named yet.
Commissioner J. D. Price reports January February 1916 fertilizer tags reached 320 110 tons and meal 31 266 tons. For 1915 the totals were 164 990 fertilizers and 42 460 meal, while 1914 saw 627 036 tons of fertilizers and 39 906 tons of cotton seed meal. Local dealers say sales so far rival last season.
The board of registrars will hold a final session Saturday to determine who should be stricken from the registration list. After 13 days of hearings several names were added and others removed. The initial 1559 voters may shrink or grow near a county record as the purge proceeds. About $97 has been collected in taxes to cover purge expenses.

All candidates in Butts County qualified by paying assessments by Saturday noon March 18. Thirty aspirants seek various offices as the primary on April 5 approaches in under two weeks. Delta Grove school boasts a large club membership across multiple cooperative demonstration branches. Names listed include Boys Corn Club members Ernest Standard and George Chasteen, Girls Canning Club members Florence Chasteen and Josie Hammock, and Poultry Pig and other club participants such as James Hammock and Wiley Standard.
Voters at all ten precincts in Butts County will sign petitions on April 5 asking to restore eight rural mail routes cut last fall. Patrons say service declined after Routes 7 and 8 from Jackson were discontinued, despite claims of economy. Congressman Wise is being asked to intervene to restore previous service levels.

A roller mill may be built in Jackson and Monticello with Edwards of Macon handling the matter, near the railroad depot pending suitable ground. Farmers in Butts County grow wheat, boosting prospects for the enterprise. Citizens express strong interest and willingness to cooperate.
