Russell Receives Captain Commission from State
Governor Harris issued a commission to Henry Dozier Russell as captain of the Jackson Rifles Company A Second Infantry National Guard of Georgia. The date is January 1, 1916. Russell, trained at the University of Georgia, is expected to keep the unit highly efficient. other officers include W. D. Pope first lieutenant and W. R. Carmichael second lieutenant.
