Aims and Ambitions of Irvington High Graduation Class
The Irvington High School graduating class of thirty seven reveals aims and past records for those to receive diplomas Tuesday evening. Girls outnumber boys four to three with twenty three girls and fourteen boys. Most live in Irvington or nearby districts with plans for college normal or professional paths. Five will enter college, three normal schools, thirteen professional schools, while sixteen will seek jobs. Several aim for business, teaching, or skilled trades, with notable ambitions including a doctor and an artist. Irvington Firemen Schedule Inspection and Parade
Irvington fire department will meet in full dress uniform at 7:26 p.m. Friday June 24 at fire headquarters for the annual inspection by village trustees and visiting officials. A Veterans of Foreign Wars parade follows to headquarters for a get-together, then on Saturday June 25 a bus and fire truck trip to Hudson for the Hudson Valley Firemen’s Convention parade with near full village representation.

Ten pupils four girls and six boys from the Parochial School of Immaculate Conception Church will graduate in a Sunday ceremony at 3 PM. Roy Thomas J. Twenty six building plots in Irvington and nearby areas will be sold at a Greenburgh foreclosure auction at the County Court House rotunda in White Plains at 10:00 a m Saturday. Parcels include Langton Avenue Hudson Road and Cedar Ridge sites with upset prices from 950 to 1350 dollars, plus a 10 acre tract on Harmen Road and a Saw Mill valley area plot likely to fetch the best offer above 2500 dollars. Fire damages Thurston home in Irvington
A Tuesday morning fire on the roof of John L Thurston’s home on Harri man Road caused about 3000 in damage. Approximately 20 firefighters fought the blaze for over half an hour with heavy hoses and booster lines. Water and smoke damaged rooms below and the cause is suspected to be defective wiring on the upper floors.
