Greenburgh faces debate over welfare management as costs show a year to year decrease yet March expenses rise by 740 compared with February. The department reports a 30,000 dollar drop in overall welfare spending this year, with 500 cases removed from the rolls and WPA payment delays increasing March caseload.
A local drive reports the Red Cross Flood Relief Fund rising to 1283 dollars with additional fundraising underway. Hall, chairman, urges continued contributions amid ongoing flood assistance efforts.
C H Matthiessen died on Tuesday the body to follow at the cemetery. Survived by widow Mrs Eda Matthiessen and three sons Ralph H Erard A and Conrad Ul Matthiessen all of whom reside locally. Funeral arrangements not specified.

Irvington Garden Club and guests returned from a three day garden tour of Virginia visiting Richmond Petersburg and Williamsburg among historic sites. The Rockefeller development in Williamsburg was a highlight while Mrs Charles C Townsend led the group with several members and spouses accompanying.
