The Ideal Woman Sermon At Maywood Church
In Chicago on October 15 Rev. Percival H Barker of Maywood led a crowd at the First Congregational church on The Ideal Woman. He distributed questions to male workers about women’s faults and urged caution in choosing companions. He warned against excessive dress and hats, flirting, and marrying for money or reforming a man. He urged virtue and reverence, condemning graft in women who keep fashion returns and comparing such acts to crime.
