Wrigglers in Fish Correction by Allene Burtis
A correction clarifies parasites in fish discussed in the April 25 Evergreen column. Professor Lewert explains that while most fish parasites are innocuous to humans some can infect people, notably the broad fish tapeworm in raw freshwater fish and Anisakis in raw marine fish. The risk is low but real, and selective raw fish eating should be done with care. A community playreading group meeting to discuss new plays for the Co op Play Reading Library is scheduled for May 17 at 7:30 p.m. with Gladys Scott available for details.
