University bank Convenience Corner to open mid July
Hyde Park officials announce a mid July opening for University National bank's new Convenience Corner at 55th st and Lake Park. The facility will offer standard banking services, tellers for checking and savings accounts, and will house a host of partner services including University Automotive Services Corporation and Budget Rent a Car. Safety deposit boxes are not offered.

Dignity in Death Task Forces Forming After Conference

Local MD Becomes University of Health Sciences Graduate
Charles A Beck Jr and 81 other medical students earned MD degrees from the University of Health Sciences Chicago Medical School on June 14. Beck, a Rochester alumnus, pursued chemistry at NYU in 1969 before medical studies. Retired Persons sponsor free Diabetic Testing in Hyde Park July 25 at United Church of Hyde Park with future dates planned. The group aims to study death education, medical and legal issues, adult education, and pilot projects across hospitals and communities. Dr Samuel Karff serves as Rabbi for Chicago Sinai Congregation, serving about 1200 families with 40 percent in Hyde Park and 20 percent from nearby areas. Sinai marks its 112th year of service.
