Hubbard reports three incumbent councilmen-at-large victorious in the Democratic primary securing November election. Joseph S. Carano led with 1,343 votes, George P. Praznik 1,326, Robert R. DeJulio 1,228, and Rohrer 1,044. Remaining Democratic candidates included Albert Keenan fourth ward, Madeline 412, Second oecumponen 571, Walter D. 396. all incumbents.

Hubbard Band Earns Top Ratings At State Contest
Hubbard High School Symphonic Band earned a superior rating at the State Band Contest held April 22 at Crestwood High School. They received two superior ratings and one excellent, plus a sight reading score of 1, for an overall 1. The band is invited to Noon in the Park at Courthouse Square in Warren on May 22, an outdoor lunchtime concert. The annual Spring Concert featuring the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band and the High School Chorus was held May 8.

Bond issue defeated by 464 votes in Hubbard district
Hubbard area voters rejected a $2.846 million 2 mill bond and a five year 1.2 million levy after a $34,000 school board office remodel controversy. Superintendent Clyde Metz said the board may re submit in November with either the bond issue or the five year levy. Treasurer Greg Slemons contrasted immediate repairs possible with the bond versus slower progress under the levy.

Area fraternity brothers aid Soviet family arrival
A Liberty area fraternity organized relief for a Soviet family that arrived in March. Blondie Levy led the effort to coordinate painting and home repairs on the north side, assisting Shenae Cheloff and his family who arrived March 24. On Saturday April 29 the family was startled by the welcome.

Trustees weigh paving petitions for Hubbard Township streets
