School Board Targets Budget Cuts To Trim Deficit
HUBBARD The Board of Education tentatively approved cuts including five teaching positions to reduce a $1.2 million deficit to about $850,000. Superintendent Clyde Metz cited declining enrollment and said cuts would be shared among elementary, middle, and high schools. The plan saves about $40,000 from Sept to Dec 1985 and accompanies a revised budget of $7.1 million, with no pay raises but funding for new textbooks, library books, and three buses, plus snowplow equipment and higher instructional supplies for teachers.
