Celebrezze presses ongoing dialogue with area mayors
Anthony Celebrezze met with 15 Mahoning Valley mayors to outline a framework for economic development and set priorities should he win the governor race. He planned to return to unveil an area plan, stressing dialogue with mayors and contrasting with George Voinovich. Local endorsements varied as some mayors supported Celebrezze, others remained noncommittal, while Democrats highlighted Valley grants and jobs. The event at Mahoning Country Club was hosted by Rep. Jim Traficant and drew numerous officials, including June Lucas and Anthony Latell.
