HUD may add funds to original Hubbard water grant

Hubbard officials met with HUD in Columbus to discuss increasing the $720,000 project funded by a $360,000 HUD grant. Rising labor and material costs push the total beyond $1 million and HUD may supply additional funds within a month. If not, Hubbard may raise water rates to cover the shortfall. Mayor Baldine noted HUD delays and guideline changes contributed to the cost rise.
