Unemployment Rate Drops to 27 Month Low
The unemployment rate fell from 5.5 to 5.2 percent, the lowest in 27 months, as the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported November joblessness dropped by 300,000 to 4.5 million while total employment held at 82.5 million. White and adult male unemployment declined. average weekly earnings slipped $1.12 to $138.01 with a shorter 37.1 hour work week.

Presidential commission rejects sales tax to aid school property costs
The Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations said a national sales tax would not relieve property taxpayers from school costs.
