Thomas Cooksey III, after two years in Africa with the Peace Corps, will remain in service for ten more months. He joined after Dennison University graduation in 1971 and initially taught French in Yaounde before transferring to Eldowo Cameroun where he worked with younger students and an increased class load.

Kenneth Horvath twenty, of 500 Chestnut Ridge Road, moved from intensive care at North Side Hospital Youngstown to a semi private room after injuries from a traffic collision on Bell Wick Road. A tractor trailer driven by Clifton B E Allen of Columbus backed from a private driveway signaling by a flashlight directed Horvath to stop. Horvath did not slow in time. Horvath remained hospitalized with recovery time needed. release date TBD.

Young hero saves infant life earns chamber award
Fourteen year old Michael Botterman of Cheektowaga received a Hubert Area Chamber of Commerce trophy for saving six month old Mary Ann Luther. He noticed the baby choking after a candle caused abdominal bloating, performed mouth to mouth resuscitation, and kept the child stable until the Luthers returned home.

Kulow seeks re election to Hubbard Township board
