Hubbard volunteers collect over 5000 in Christmas decorations
Gene Alexander of the Chamber of Commerce, aided by Hubbard Key Club members, traveled to Akron to acquire more than $5,000 in Christmas decorations bought for the Light Up The Town project. The 53 units will line East and West Liberty and North and South Main Streets this Christmas season, with elevated pieces only on the main square.

Former Girard mayor named Domestic Relations judge
John D. DePietro, 55, of Girard, was named to fill the unexpired term of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Domestic Relations Division. He will serve about one and a half years before running for office. DePietro is a senior partner at Downey DePietro Brown Savasten and Stuart in Warren. He previously served as Girard mayor and city solicitor and has a long record in local public service. The appointment follows the retirement of Judge Bruce P. Henderson and was recommended by the Trumbull County Bar Association with Democratic support. DePietro is married with two children and a grandson. He expressed intent to reorganize and direct chaotic court conditions.
