Township Joins Drug Task Force For Second Year
Hubbard Township trustees approved joining the Trumbull County Drug Task Force for a second year. A township officer will work with the agency about three days weekly. The decision was made at a March 30 special meeting after public hearings. Katie's Korn ers zoning change to light industrial passed with no opposition. Five zoning amendments were approved including new permit requirements for certain businesses before locating in the township. Another public hearing had no opposition.

Conrail Road Work At Route 62 7 Intersection
The Conrail Railway will repair the crossing at U S Route 62 and State Route 7 just north of Erie Street. Work spans three days with one lane traffic daily until 6 p m on April 23 and 24. On Sunday April 26 partial closure noon to 8 p m. Detours direct southbound traffic I 80 West to State Route 193 South to Route 304 East and reverse for northbound.
Just Say No drug awareness program to reach Hubbard students
Hubbard Township Police and the National Child Safety Council will present a Just Say No chemical awareness program to Hubbard kindergartners through fourth graders. Juvenile Officer Kenneth D. Miller says a 24 page workbook and Safety Pup presentation will teach chemical awareness and alcohol abuse, with framable certificates upon completion. Funding comes from area businesses and civic groups to promote positive decision making.
