Michigan House votes to tighten voter ID laws in Michigan

Katherine J. MacKenzie of Holland died June 22 2021 at Holland Hospital at age 94. She owned That Place a needlework shop for 18 years and served on the Holland Public School board. Family IDs man killed by trooper in emotional distress
Virgil Lee Taylor, 31, of Zeeland, was identified after a Michigan State Police trooper shot him during a breaking and entering call. Police say Taylor attacked the trooper, grabbed for the gun, and was unarmed at the time. Dash cam video exists, the trooper is on administrative leave, and the case goes to the Allegan County Prosecutor for review. Family advocates body cameras and officer training for encounters with emotionally distressed individuals.
